Diet and Inflammation

Our modern diet is doing two things to us at the same time.

  • Causing weight gain
  • A high intake of pro-inflammation essential fatty acids called omega-6

And this is leading to inflammation throughout the body.

The high use of processed oils in our diet, with fried cooking and fast food, has led to an imbalance between the ratio of Omega-6 oils and Omega-3 essential fatty acids. Our modern diet is doing two things to us at the same time.

The higher the imbalance of the essential oil omega-6 to omega-3, the greater the likelihood of uncontrolled inflammation.

Researchers were finding pro-inflammatory white cells called macrophages being produced in fat cells when the omega-6 became too high and there was not enough of the anti-inflammatory omega-3. These cells act as inflammation amplifiers.

This is coming about from not enough anti-inflammatory omega-3 essential fatty acid foods (salmon, English walnuts, and flax). Our modern diet is corn, soy, and processed foods, leading to the higher omega-6 essential fatty acid level..

Researchers found that consuming processed foods leads to significant weight gain and a very high omega-6 oil intake.

When the weight does not come off, the body forms inflammatory macrophages that cause pain syndromes.

What all of us need to do:

  • Eat more salmon, English walnuts, and try a cereal that has flax in it.
  • Eat more vegetables. High in minerals that stimulate cell energy, helping to stop weight gain.
  • Be intentional about what you eat in a restaurant. The healthier choices on the menu add up.
    • Nothing fried
    • More vegetables and salads
    • Minimal sodas
  • Everyone needs supplementation of omega-3 essential oils with EPA/DHA from Perque or Clinical Omega from Anabolic.

Test Yearly

The omega-3 essential oils are the highest concentration of oil in the brain. This is very important for cell wall permeability, letting nutrients into the cell and toxins out.

The testing lets you know your omega-3 concentration and the ratio to omega-6.

Omega-3 needs to be over 8% and the Omega-6 to 3 ratio needs to be less than 4.

How this works with weight

The body reduces fat storage and causes weight loss when cell energy increases. Cell energy increases with high mineral/energy producing foods and the ability to let those nutrients into the cell – cell wall permeability.
